This beautiful restored country cottage is set in the Corrèze, on the border of Lot and Dordogne. It is well placed to visit the Dordogne Valley, Rocamadour and six of the 'prettiest villages in France' including Collonges la Rouge and Turenne. Wining and Dining The region is famous for its kitchen. Nearby you will find of lot of little real French restaurants, all serving good meals for very reasonable prices. On the menu you will find the regional dishes as foie gras, 'confits' of goose and duck, trout, wild mushrooms, cheeses such as 'Cabecou', Cantal and Bleue d'Auvergne, all accompanied by the wines of the region.

Exploring the country side: In the area there are a lot of signposted walks to make, which will take you to the most beautiful view points. A book with maps is available.

Golf Information.: Nearby 'Chante Merle' are 5 very beautiful golf courses: - near Aubazine a 9-holes/par 28 and a 18 holes/par 70 course, - near Brive a 18 holes/par 71 course, - near Souillac a 18 holes/par 72 and - near Saint Céré a 9 holes at the Chateau de Montal. Culture, Music. In summer there are several famous festivals and concerts for classical music in the region. Museums. In the area there are a lot of chateaux which are now museums. The chateaux of Turenne, of Castlenau and of Montal (beside the beautifull golf course) are well worth visiting. Architecture. In the region are many chapels and churches in pure romanesque architecture to see. Most of them are still in use and have a lovely ambiance of peace and simplicity.
